Abstract

In order to achieve precise monitoring of surface deformation at industrial mining sites and to assess damage to buildings and structures, a method integrating PS-InSAR-based ground control point selection with SBAS-InSAR processing was proposed. Using 21 Sentinel-1A orbit-updated images from April 30, 2024 to February 12, 2025, combined with leveling measurement data, the inversion results of deformation were verified and their accuracy was evaluated. Meanwhile, the deformation indicators of key facilities were systematically extracted to assess the damage level of buildings (structures). The results show that the InSAR-derived measurements are in good agreement with the leveling data, with the mean absolute error and root mean square error being 4.1 mm and 5.1 mm, respectively. The spatiotemporal evolution of surface deformation in the study area is highly consistent with the mining activities of the 56903 working face, with a maximum subsidence rate of -172.9 mm/a. Since August 2024, the subsidence area has continuously expanded westward, showing obvious characteristics of uneven subsidence. The cumulative subsidence values of the main shaft and auxiliary shaft are 109.2 mm and 115.9 mm, respectively. Tilting deformation is identified in several buildings within the industrial site, and the damage grade is determined to be Grade I, whereas only limited additional tilting deformation is observed in ancillary facilities such as the hoist and ventilator. It is concluded that the proposed method can provide a technical reference for deformation monitoring and damage assessment of industrial sites in resource-depleted mines.
