Abstract

The X tight oil block reservoir is characterized by its tightness, extremely low permeability, relatively large effective layer thickness, and the development of thin interbeddings of sandstone and mudstone. The current main development method is horizontal wells with staged volumetric fracturing modification followed by depletion-driven production. At present, this block faces issues such as low saturation pressure difference, rapid decline of formation pressure, and severe reservoir degassing. The average daily production per well in the block is 3.7 tons of oil and 1.7×104 m3 of gas, and even wells with high gas-oil ratios in the area do not perform well after switching to pumping production. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to carry out targeted energy supplementation and recovery improvement technology research. Given the adequate associated gas production in the block, hydrocarbon gas reinjection was identified as the priority exploration direction for energy supplementation technology. The key operational parameters of the water-hydrocarbon gas alternating huff-and-puff technology (such as gas-to-water ratio, huff-and-puff cycle, injection pressure, etc.) were systematically analyzed through numerical simulation, clarifying the main controlling factors of its development effectiveness. On this basis, an optimized water-alternating-gas injection (WAG) production enhancement scheme for the block was developed in combination with orthogonal experimental design. The applicability analysis for the field shows that the optimized plan has significant development effects, increasing the ultimavte recovery factor by 8.1% compared to basic depletion development, and can provide a technical reference for the optimization and adjustment of subsequent production measures in similar tight conglomerate reservoirs.
