To study the synergistic effect of pulsed electric field (PEF) and trichostatin A (TSA) on the growth and development of Fusarium graminearum, was treated with 10 kV/cm PEF (pulse width of 99 μs, pulse 60 times) combined with different concentrations of TSA (0, 50, 100, 200, 300 μmol/L). The synergistic antibacterial effect was evaluated by measuring colony growth rate, sporulation and germination rate. The results showed that the inhibitory effects of PEF and TSA combined treatment on mycelial growth and spore germination were enhanced with the increase of TSA concentration, and were significantly higher than those of TSA alone at the same concentration. At 300 μmol/L TSA, the inhibition rate of mycelium growth after combined treatment reached 51.47%, and the EC50 value decreased from 560.66 μmol/L of TSA alone to 239.75 μmol/L, and the bactericidal efficiency increased by 2.34 times. After combined treatment for 7 h, the spore germination inhibition rate reached 71.99%, the EC50 value decreased to 50.58 μmol/L, the antibacterial activity increased by 4.06 times, and the spore germination process was delayed by 2 h. In addition, under the condition of 50 μmol/L TSA, the combined treatment significantly reduced the spore production of the pathogen by 47.37%. This result provides a theoretical basis for the development of physical-chemical synergistic sterilization technology and the green control of corn ear rot disease.
