Abstract

Plant flexible sensors have excellent mechanical properties, conformality, stability and biocompatibility, and can accurately monitor plant growth status and growth environment changes, showing great potential in precision agriculture. Plant flexible sensors provide key information in optimizing crop growth environment and responding to biotic and abiotic stresses, which is helpful for precise management and improving crop yield. The importance and latest progress of such sensors in precision agriculture were reviewed, covering their structure, working principles, sensing mechanisms, and materials used for fabrication. Applications in monitoring plant water content, temperature, growth, and volatile chemicals, among other aspects, were elaborated. The use of graphene technology in plant sensors and their self-powered systems was introduced. Furthermore, the integration of self-powered technology and wireless transmission and reception technologies in plant wearable sensing was discussed. In addition, alongside the development of artificial intelligence, the trend toward agricultural intelligence based on flexible sensing data was presented, current bottlenecks and opportunities were analyzed, and a research reference was provided to assist scientists in addressing the challenges of intelligent and precision agriculture.
