It has significant exploration and development potential for geothermal resources in carbonate rocks in Hebei Plain. Based on various borehole and geophysical data, research on geothermal resource elements such as structure, thermal reservoir and geothermal field was conducted. The genetic mechanism was established, and favorable areas were divided, which guiding the exploration practice. Two sets of carbonate rock thermal reservoirs: the Cambrian-Ordovician and the Wumishan Formation of the Jixian System. Dissolution pores and fractures provide fluid storage space and migration pathways. Atmospheric precipitation from the Taihang and Yanshan basement areas migrates deep through piedmont faults and karst fractures, and is heated by heat flow from the mantle, forming medium-to-low temperature geothermal resources. Secondary uplifts (low uplifts) and slope areas are favorable areas, due to the development of thermal reservoirs, moderate burial depth and proximity to deep faults. Guided by this understanding, the DR-1 well, targeting the Wumishan Formation, is deployed and implemented in the north of Wuji-Gaocheng low uplift, yielded water at a temperature of 108 ℃ and a flow rate of 110 m3/h, announcing an exploration breakthrough in deep carbonate rock geothermal resources in the Wuji-Gaocheng low uplift area. The deployed DR-2 well, targeting the Cambrian system, is yielding water at a temperature of 97 ℃ and a flow rate of 180 m3/h, opening up another layer for geothermal resource development in this region.
