The relationship between the Zhangjiadian pluton and uranium mineralization was investigated through the study of geochronology and geochemical characteristics of the granitoids. Zircon U-Pb dating was performed using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The dating results indicate that the three pulses of the Zhangjiadian pluton are formed between 198.2 Ma and 205.7 Ma, corresponding to the Late Indosinian-Yanshanian period. Geochemical data reveal that the Zhangjiadian pluton is characterized as high potassium calc-alkaline A-type granite belonging to the peraluminous series. It is inferred that the pluton is formed by fractional crystallization of magma. Structure environment analysis indicates that the pluton is classified as post-collisional granite (post-COLG), formed under a lithosphere extension setting in the Yichun area during the late Late Triassic. During the formation process, the main uranium-bearing granitoids are contaminated by crustal materials. It is speculated that the contaminant is Proterozoic-Paleozoic uranium-rich metamorphic strata, which is consistent with the uranium granitoids found in southeast China uranium metallogenic province. Compared with the surrounding rocks, the Zhangjiadian uranium-bearing granite exhibits higher contents of MnO, MgO, TiO2, and P2O5, and lower concentrations of Na2O, which indicates material exchange. Furthermore, higher concentrations of light rare earth elements (LREE) and lower δEu values are observed compared to the surrounding rocks. These findings suggest that both are derived from the same source, but the uranium granite undergoes a higher degree of magmatic evolution. Higher concentrations of Zr,Ta,Hf, and Nb are also observed, suggesting that the mineralization fluid is mainly derived from deep magmatic hydrothermal fluids. It is concluded that the initial enrichment of uranium occurred during the Zhangjiadian magmatic process in the Early Cretaceous, and the ore bodies are formed in the unstable tectonic setting at the edge of the pluton. Uranium ore prediction is conducted by the integrated use of geological, geophysical and geochemical information. The southeast of Zhangjiadian and the eastern part of Yangguang Forest Farm pluton are identified as favorable locations for the exploration of the granite-related low-temperature hydrothermal uranium deposits (inner zone).
