Abstract

Sinan County is situated in a karst landform area. Landslide disasters in this region exhibit characteristics of high frequency and clustering, constrained by multiple factors including a fragile ecological environment and complex engineering geological conditions. These features pose significant challenges for landslide identification using interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) technology. To efficiently and accurately identify potential landslides in the Sinan area, a multi-source remote sensing framework integrated with ground survey analysis was constructed. Twenty-two Sentinel-1 ascending orbit images from January 26 to December 28, 2023, covering Sinan County were selected. Optimized interferometric processing was applied using the SBAS-InSAR technique to extract a millimeter-level surface deformation map of the study area. Subsequently, optical image interpretation was integrated to delineate potential landslide hazards. The distribution characteristics of these hazards within the geological environment were statistically analyzed, along with a time-series analysis. Results indicate that potential landslides in Sinan County are primarily distributed at elevations of 358~800 m, on slopes of 10°~40°, with slope aspects facing north, southeast, and northeast, within an annual rainfall range of 715~800 mm, and in the Silurian Xiushan Formation strata. The effectiveness of InSAR identification shows significant variation with slope aspect. A strong correlation is observed between heavy rainfall and landslide deformation curves, with deformation changes lagging behind rainfall events. Furthermore, monitoring data from the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is largely consistent with the InSAR results, demonstrating the applicability of the SBAS-InSAR technique in this complex geological setting. The findings provide an important reference for landslide hazard identification and surface deformation monitoring in karst development areas.
