Corrosion and scaling are common and serious problems in the petroleum industry. The use of chemical corrosion and scale inhibitors is an effective solution. Conventional inhibitors have problems such as high chemical consumption, complex operation, and poor effectiveness at pipeline ends. These issues make the research and application of solid corrosion and scale inhibitors increasingly critical in oilfields. The research progress of solid corrosion and scale inhibitors in oil fields in recent years was reviewed from four aspects: composition, forming process, evaluation methods and field application. The performance characteristics of corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors and carriers were summarized. The applicability and limitations of existing solid forming processes were sorted out. Finally, an evaluation system for the sustained-release and stability of solid corrosion and scale inhibitors was constructed. Field application shows that although solid corrosion and scale inhibitors can significantly extend the action period, there are still problems such as failure at high temperatures and rapid dissolution in large liquid volume wells. With the aim of providing a basis for solving corrosion and scaling in oil fields and breaking through the technical bottlenecks of solid corrosion and scale inhibitors, ensuring the safe and efficient development of oil and gas fields.
