Abstract

Dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling technology can effectively improve the cooling efficiency of the system by pre-drying the dehumidification auxiliary strengthening of the treated air, and can use low-grade heat sources such as solar energy, industrial waste heat, geothermal energy and biomass energy to drive the regeneration of dehumidification equipment, which has great energy saving potential. Different types of dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system was reviewed, the thermodynamic principle and air treatment process of typical dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system were summarized, and the system composition, driving heat source, preparation refrigerant and system performance were compared. The application status and research progress of fixed bed dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system, rotary dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system, liquid desiccant dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system and membrane dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling system driven by low grade heat energy were systematically analyzed. Finally, prospects were put forward regarding the structural optimization of dehumidification equipment, the recovery and utilization of adsorption heat, the selection and utilization of low-grade thermal energy, and the operation control of dehumidification enhanced evaporative cooling systems. For the further development of dehumidification-enhanced evaporative cooling systems, emphasis should be placed on the following aspects: coupling multiple dehumidification methods to achieve complementary advantages, adopting complementary low-grade heat sources of different forms to provide stable regeneration heat sources for the dehumidification system, and enhancing the operation control of the evaporative cooling system under different climates to improve its adaptability to specific application scenarios.
