Abstract

Due to the complex pore structure and extremely small size in tight reservoirs, there is a high resistance to fluid flow, resulting in low oil well production. The existing conventional water injection development methods are no longer sufficient to meet the development needs of tight oil reservoirs. In light of these challenges, gas injection for oil recovery emerges as a promising technique, particularly for the development of tight oil reservoirs. The minimum miscibility pressure stands as a pivotal parameter in determining the miscibility of oil and gas, thereby playing a critical role in the selection of gas injection strategies. Therefore, accurately measuring and effectively reducing the minimum miscibility pressure has become a focal point of current research. The methodologies for determining the minimum miscibility pressure(MMP) in tight oil reservoirs were meticulously summarized and the factors were analyzed that influence it. The experimental methods include the slim tube test, core displacement method, bubble rise apparatus, and vanishing interfacial tension method. The theoretical methods encompassed empirical correlation methods, equations of state, artificial intelligence techniques, and tie-line analysis methods. By comparing the advantages and limitations of these various methods, the aim is to provide a reference for the accurate calculation of the minimum miscibility pressure in gas injection, thereby promoting advancements in oil reservoir development technology and enhancing the efficiency of oil extraction.
