In Yan’an Gas Field, there are serious problems such as generally low single-layer gas production, strong reservoir heterogeneity, interlayer interference and backflow phenomenon caused by multilayer commingled production. In order to solve these problems, long-core parallel physical simulation experiments were conducted to simulate volumetric depletion development process in tight gas reservoirs, and systematically investigate the effects of permeability contrast, production rate, succession timing, and controlled reserves on gas production characteristics and gas recovery of multilayer commingled production wells. The results indicate that the production contribution and gas recovery in low-permeability layers decrease with the increase of permeability contrast, production rate and succession timing. As initial pressure differences between multilayers in Yan’an gas field are relatively small, the delayed succession timing results in larger interlayer pressure differentials and more serious backflow phenomenon, and thus poorer development performance. Production contribution rate of reservoir layers is significantly improved with the increase of controlled reserves. These results provide significant theoretical guidance for formulating rational development strategies and technical policies in tight gas reservoirs.
