Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is a clinical syndrome characterized by the simultaneous failure of both the heart and kidneys, with one organ's failure leading to the failure of the other. Increasing evidence suggests that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has increasingly significant advantages in treating CRS. 60 patients with CRS who met the criteria for both heart-kidney deficiency and liver depression were selected and randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 30 patients in each group. Both groups received conventional western medical treatment, while the treatment group additionally took the Tongbi Shuxin Granules. During the study period, the clinical efficacy, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDD), cystatin C (Cys-C), serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and B-type natriuretic peptide precursor (NT-proBNP) levels were monitored and compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Compared with the control group, the treatment group shows significant reductions in Cys-C, NT-proBNP, Scr, and BUN levels. Furthermore, patients in the treatment group experience significant improvements in clinical symptoms such as palpitations, chest tightness, shortness of breath, lower limb edema, feelling cold, and cold limbs, as well as in LVEF levels, with significant differences (P < 0.05). The results indicate that the Tongbi Shuxin Granules can effectively reduce the levels of Cys-C, NT-proBNP, Scr, and BUN in CRS patients and improve their clinical symptoms and LVEF levels. Thus, the clinical efficacy of this medication is confirmed, and it has positive implications for the clinical treatment of CRS, significantly improving heart and kidney function and Reducing long-term survival rates.
