Abstract

In order to address the issues of road traffic accidents and congestion caused by improper driving behaviors, an interspecies Prisoner's Dilemma game model with a strong Allee effect was used to investigate the impact mechanisms of conservative and aggressive populations on road traffic networks under different parameters. The results show that when the road traffic system is unaffected by the Allee effect, the conservative population always holds an advantage in the game, and its population density generally increases, while the density of the aggressive population decreases, leading to lower system risks. When the road traffic system is influenced by a strong Allee effect, significant changes occur in the population sizes of both sub-populations. The higher the population density, the fewer the aggressive population, and as the intensity of the Allee effect increases, the population sizes of both sub-populations cease to grow, making the system more likely to fall into a congestion state within a short period. It is concluded that by reducing the aggressive population's driving flow density, the Allee effect can be suppressed, which effectively improves the operational status of the road traffic system. The research findings provide valuable insights for reducing traffic safety risks and maintaining the stability of traffic systems.
