Abstract

In order to study the deformation control issues when urban metro tunnel construction crosses adjacent pile foundations, ensuring the safety and stability of the pile foundation and its superstructure, a segmented deep-hole grouting reinforcement scheme was used to investigate the actual engineering conditions of a double-line tunnel crossing a nearby overpass. The results show that the vertical maximum grouting reinforcement rates of the ramp bridge, roundabout bridge, and overpass bridge pile foundations are 33.50%, 40.71%, and 73.51%, respectively, while the horizontal maximum grouting reinforcement rates are 54.03%, 56.31%, and 60.82%, respectively. It is concluded that the segmented deep-hole grouting reinforcement scheme effectively reduces both vertical and horizontal deformation of pile foundations, and the crown + pile perimeter grouting reinforcement scheme can effectively control pile foundation deformation during close-proximity tunnel construction.
