Abstract

Floor mat panels are widely used as sports flooring materials that can be directly laid on flat surfaces. These structures exhibit diverse design configurations and demonstrate excellent mechanical properties including vertical damping and structural load-bearing capacity. Current research on the mechanical properties of such panel structures remains limited. To systematically investigate their load-bearing characteristics, numerical simulations and experimental methods were adopted. Four representative panel configurations were selected for analysis, with corresponding unit cell models established for stability evaluation. 3D printing technology was utilized to fabricate unit cell specimens for compressive loading experiments. By comparing crushing deformation patterns and load-displacement curves, the load-bearing performance of different panel configurations was comprehensively evaluated. The findings reveal that the mi-shaped unit cell configuration demonstrates superior load-bearing efficiency per unit mass, while exhibiting higher sensitivity to initial geometric imperfections. The research results provide valuable insights for optimizing the structural design of floor mat panels.
