Tungsten ore, a national strategic mineral resource, is crucial to the nation's economy and security. Guangxi's tungsten resources hold a significant position nationwide, yet their metallogenic laws have not been comprehensively understood or elaborated. The metallogenic characteristics, patterns, and exploration directions of Guangxi's tungsten deposits were thoroughly examined. The results show that Guangxi's tungsten deposits can be categorized into three main types based on their genesis: quartz-vein, skarn, and porphyry, with the quartz-vein type being particularly significant. The sources of metallogenic materials are diverse, primarily including tungsten-rich magmas, magmatic hydrothermal fluids, and Sinian-Cambrian shallow-metamorphic rocks. The metallogenic periods span the Caledonian, Indosinian, Middle Yanshanian, and Late Yanshanian, with the latter seeing the highest number and scale of tungsten deposits. Guangxi's tungsten deposits are distributed across six key metallogenic areas within four third-level metallogenic belts: Yuanbaoshan, Yuechengling, Daming Mountain-Kunlun Pass, Hushan, Yupo-Shedong, and Youmapo-Songwang. The medium-to-large tungsten deposits are mainly concentrated in the Daming Mountain-Kunlun Pass, Hushan, and Youmapo-Songwang metallogenic areas. Based on these insights into metallogenic patterns, it is proposed for the first time that the influence range of acidic to intermediate-acidic magmatic rocks is a favorable space for tungsten metallogenesis and a promising exploration area. The deep and marginal parts of existing large quartz-vein tungsten deposits, as well as the contact zones between extensively exposed Yanshanian acidic-intermediate-acidic plutons and calcareous strata, are identified as key regions for the next breakthrough in tungsten exploration.
