Basalt fiber-reinforced polymers hold significant promise for the enhancement of slope techniques, leveraging their superior tensile properties and reduced carbon footprint relative to steel during fabrication. In a comparative analysis with steel counterparts, a novel clamping mechanism for basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) bolt systems were implemented to bolster the stability of buckling-type bedding slopes. The derivation of the load transfer equation at the clamping bolt interface was facilitated the optimization of this structural reinforcement's efficacy on the buckling-type slope, employing a hybrid finite element-discrete element approach. The results show these as follows. The slope susceptible to collapse is stratified into three discrete zones-bottom to top-reflecting the spatiotemporal characteristics of its failure mode: a lower compression zone, an intermediate bending uplift zone, and an upper sliding zone. The anchor reinforcement system exerts its most efficacious support when installed at the junctions of these zones. A clamping interaction occurs at the interface between the secured bolt and the encompassing mass of rock and soil. The zenith of anchoring efficacy is realized within a clamping angle bracketed between 20° and 30°. The SPH (smooth particle hydrodynamics) method is capable of comprehensively simulating the cascade from incipient slope fracturing to the culmination of sliding failure. This approach affords a heightened degree of precision in the optimization of anchoring systems.
