Gas hydrate is widely distributed around the world and is a new type of energy with great development potential in the 21st century. Accurately identifying hydrates in both marine and terrestrial environments is a key issue in hydrate exploration, and it is of significant importance for understanding hydrate resource distribution and reservoir evaluation. The differences in the storage locations of marine and terrestrial hydrates cause different reservoir layers to exhibit distinct logging responses, presenting challenges for reservoir identification. The logging response characteristics and response differences of marine and terrestrial hydrates under various logging methods were focused on, with particular attention given to the hydrates' geological characteristics in different depositional environments. The research progress of commonly used logging identification methods for marine and terrestrial hydrate reservoirs is summarized. Finally, it looks forward to the application of machine learning in the identification of hydrate reservoirs, providing a reference for the intelligent exploration and development of hydrate resources.
