Abstract

To investigate the mechanical properties and permeability of polypropylene steel-like fiber-silica fume modified permeable concrete, polypropylene steel-like fibers and silica fume were incorporated into permeable concrete to develop a type of modified permeable concrete. Through orthogonal experiments, range analysis, and techniques such as scanning electron microscopy and CT scanning, the effects of silica fume, water-to-binder ratio, superplasticizer dosage, as well as the shape, length, and dosage of fibers on the performance of permeable concrete were studied, along with an analysis of its internal micro-structure. The results indicate that when the dosage of silica fume is 10%, the water-to-binder ratio is 0.3, and the superplasticizer dosage is 0.9%, the mechanical properties of the permeable concrete are optimal, and it exhibits good permeability. Furthermore, when incorporating wavy fibers with a length of 30 mm and a dosage of 6 kg/m3, the mechanical performance of the permeable concrete is further optimized. The compressive strength first increases and then decreases with increasing fiber length and dosage, while the effective porosity decreases linearly as the fiber length and dosage increase.
