Considering the advantages of flow-induced motion and energy conversion of the multi-prism composite oscillator, experimental tests on the flow-induced motion and energy conversion characteristics of multiple prisms combination oscillator under different excitation voltage conditions were conducted. In the experiment, the damping of the flow-induced motion energy conversion system was controlled by adjusting the excitation voltage of the variable excitation motor, as well as the amplitude ratio and frequency ratio at different flow velocities and excitation voltages were analyzed to reveal the oscillation induction conditions for vortex-induced vibration and galloping. By comparing the variations in active power and efficiency, the influence of damping on the flow-induced motion energy conversion characteristics of multiple prisms combination oscillator was elucidated to explore more potential cross-sectional types for energy conversion. The experimental results show that compared with single triangular prismatic vibrators, multiple prisms combination oscillator have good oscillation and energy conversion performances under different damping conditions, with the maximum amplitude ratio of 1.72(reduced velocity is 10, excitation voltage is 20 V) and the maximum power generation of 13.86 W(reduced velocity is 10, excitation voltage is 40 V).
