Abstract

In response to the issues of long investment return cycles for EV (electric vehicle) charging stations and insufficient market enthusiasm for construction, a charging station optimization strategy with multiple constraints was proposed to maximize operators' benefits. An operation revenue-cost analysis model of charging stations was first built. With the goal of maximizing operators' profits, factors like charging service income, government subsidies, infrastructure construction costs, and operation & maintenance costs were considered. Then, with user convenience and grid stability constraints, an optimization model for the service scope and scale of charging stations was established and a corresponding solution algorithm designed. Through empirical research on a Beijing area, an iterative method optimizes the charging station layout until the operator's profit peaks, accomplishing the overall plan. Experimental results demonstrate that this optimization solution can increase charging facility utilization to over 90%, while meeting 84% of the regional charging demand, effectively validating the practical value of the model and algorithm. This research provides theoretical foundations and practical guidance for the rational layout of charging infrastructure.
