Abstract

To study the mechanics and failure mechanism of geopolymer cementing reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP) concrete, a newly developed geopolymer cementing RAP material (S-F Geopolymer) was selected as cementing material, and geopolymer cementing RAP concrete was obtained by using S-F Geopolymer. The mechanical properties and failure mechanism of S-F Geopolymer cemented RAP concrete were studied through compressive and flexural tests. The results show that the content of RAP aggregate has great influence on compressive and flexural tensile strength of S-F Geopolymer cemented RAP concrete. With the increase of RAP aggregate content, the compressive strength of S-F Geopolymer cemented RAP concrete decreases significantly, and the decline rate of S-F Geopolymer cemented RAP concrete decreases first and then increases. The increase of RAP aggregate content will weaken the flexural tensile strength of S-F Geopolymer bonded RAP concrete under different ages. S-F Geopolymer bonded RAP concrete is mainly classified into three types of damage: internal damage of RAP aggregates, asphalt-asphalt bonding and asphalt-aggregate bonding.
