Abstract

Paleogene is the main exploration and extraction target of geothermal resources in Anyang Sub-sag. and dissecting its internal characteristics is helpful for the sustainable development and utilization of geothermal resources. Based on boreholes at different periods and geophysical data, thermal reservoir was compared vertically and horizontally to identify its spatial distribution. Evaluation criteria of Paleogene thermal reservoir was established and the favorable ares were divided, providing a predicted target area for further exploration and development of geothermal resources in the region. The results indicate that the the development of Paleogene thermal reservoir is mainly controlled by the strata. The quality of thermal reservoir varies from good to poor from top to bottom in Paleogene. The optimal reservoir is located in strata above the third sub-member of the third member of Shahejie Formation, with an increase in reservoir ratio and physical properties. The porosity can exceed 20%. The quality of thermal reservoir in the third sub-member of the third member of Shahejie Formation has deteriorated, with a lower porosity of less than 15%. While in the fourth sub-member the thermal reservoir quality has improved, with an average porosity of about 17%. The scale and physical properties of the forth member are poor, making it difficult to use as an effective thermal reservoir. The horizontal distribution of thermal reservoir has a circular characteristic affected by geological uplift and erosion. Reservoir in the southern part of the sub-sag has a better quality than that of the northern part. The optimal type Ⅰ thermal reservoir is distributed in the area south of the HSW-JLGJ-HDR geothermal wells, with a water volume of over 50 m3/h for single well. Type Ⅱ thermal reservoir is mainly distributed in the TLHY geothermal well area in the center-west of the sub-sag, with a water volume of 30 ~ 50 m3/h for single well. Type Ⅲ thermal reservoir is mainly distributed in the northern part of the sub-sag, with a water volume of less than 30 m3/h.
