Abstract

Due to increasing demands for high seismic fortification and structural resilience in construction, isolation technology has become a focal point of research, as it effectively decouples seismic force transmission and absorbs a portion of seismic energy. By reviewing the research advancements made by domestic and international scholars regarding the application of isolation technology in civil engineering, the continuous development of new types of rubber bearings designed to address the issue of shear vulnerability in traditional rubber layers was highlighted, along with evaluations of their isolation performance. Friction pendulum isolation bearings, known for their high load-bearing capacity and excellent self-centering capabilities, have been widely adopted in building structures, bridge engineering, and large-span spatial structures. Finally, based on case studies of isolation design, structural reinforcement, and renovation projects, several key research conclusions and recommendations were proposed, offering valuable references for the design and implementation of seismic isolation systems.
