Abstract

The closure of abandoned mines has generated a large amount of usable associated resources. To avoid wasting resources in mining areas, a multi energy complementary abandoned mine integrated energy system (IES) can be constructed by utilizing the above ground and underground resources of abandoned mines. To achieve the rational operation of IES, it is necessary to explore the optimization configuration of IES capacity based on abandoned mines. The abandoned mining area of Daizhuang coal mine was taken as an example, using distributed photovoltaics laid in the subsidence area above the mine, underground tunnels, underground parking lots, etc. as compressed air energy storage(CAES) gas storage facilities, using coalbed methane development technology to recover residual coalbed methane gas underground for power generation, and constructing an abandoned mine IES. A capacity optimization configuration method for IES considering partial battery energy storage was proposed to address issues such as zero photovoltaic power generation at night and long start-up time for large-scale CAES. Firstly, operating rules were established for abandoned mine IES. Then, with IES economic and carbon emission indicators as the targets, a low-carbon mining area energy storage capacity allocation model was established that taken into account carbon trading mechanisms. Finally, corresponding dynamic optimization control strategies were proposed for the priority output of batteries and external power grids, and the impact of backup energy storage on the operation of IES under different strategies was explored. Based on typical days of abandoned mines, the effectiveness of the proposed dynamic optimization control strategy was verified and the optimal energy storage capacity configuration scheme was determined for IES. The results show that by configuring a certain amount of energy storage, the impact of source load output fluctuations on the operation of IES can be effectively alleviated. The abandoned mine area IES can fully utilize associated resources such as coal mining subsidence areas, residual coalbed methane, and underground space, providing engineering reference for the development and reuse of abandoned mines.
