Taking Shan 2 gas reservoir of Zizhou gas field as an example, the production effect and potential of Shan 2 tight sandstone gas reservoir were evaluated in detail by using the calculation and analysis of geological reserves, dynamic reserves, cumulative gas production, cumulative water production and dynamic reserves to static reserves ratio. The results show that the plane production of Shan 2 gas reservoir is seriously unbalanced. Among the 7 well areas, Yu 30 well area in the middle of the main sand body zone has the best production effect, which belongs to Class Ⅰ production areas. Zhou 3 well area in the south of the main sand body and Yu 81 well area in the north of the main sand body have medium production effects, which belongs to Class Ⅱ production areas. The production effects of Yu 69, Yu 48, Qilin Gou and Yu 29 wells around the main sand body are poor, and they belong to Class Ⅲ production areas. It is preliminarily predicted that the overall production potential of Shan 2 gas reservoir is 198.1 × 10⁸ m³. Among them, the production potential of Class Ⅲ areas is 174.7 × 10⁸ m³, accounting for 88.2%, which is the focus of the follow-up potential exploration of Shan 2 gas reservoir.
