Abstract

The yaw system connects the rotor of the wind turbine and the tower for the load bearing component, which the motion is subjected to the coupling effect of gas-machine-electric-hydraulic. According to analyzing the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the yaw system, the mechanical analysis and calculation of the yaw torque load was carried out. Based on four typical extreme operating conditions, the torque variation law of the yaw load was analyzed during the operating process. It focus on the study of the yaw operation braking and yaw static braking characteristics. The results show that the motor braking speed control threshold, braking response time. The tail braking duration is the main consideration factor for the braking characteristics of the sliding yaw system. It is determined that the sliding system is coordinated with a variable frequency control yaw mode, and the optimal choice is the power loss braking mode. The braking motor speed can be reduced to 35%. Compared to the increase in the number of drives, the increase in braking torque has the most significant effect on improving yaw slip in the static braking state of yaw, resulting in a smaller instantaneous rotation angle of yaw, while a greater load on the output small tooth impact.
