Abstract:The narrow passage and limited vision in the large underground parking lot lead to the collision of vehicles at the blind intersection, which is very dangerous. This paper designs a driving simulation experiment by building a 3D model of the underground parking lot and a connected vehicle warning information system to analyze the approach behavior of the blind intersection of the underground parking lot. Four experimental scenarios were designed considering the technical level (with or without information warning) and events (with or without vehicle conflict at blind intersection). Based on the micro-driving behaviors of 31 subjects, speed, acceleration and braking position were selected to analyze the approach behaviors from the warning point to the blind intersection. Two indexes of initial speed and average speed were selected, and k-means method was used to cluster driver types, and the influence of connected vehicle warning information on different drivers" approach behavior was analyzed. The results show that: 1) When the driver approaches the blind intersection without warning information, the process includes three stages: speed maintenance, speed increase and speed decrease. When there is warning information, the speed decreases evenly, and the speed through the intersection is 34.08% higher than that without warning information. 2) The warning information reduces the average speed of drivers by 9.94km /h compared with the scenario without warning, and advances the braking position by 4.49m, effectively improving the safety of drivers at blind intersections in parking lots. However, the warning information can not make the three types of drivers" behavior consistent. The average speed of aggressive drivers is still higher than that of conservative and general drivers, and the braking position is closer to the blind intersection. 3) The early warning system has obvious effects on conservative and general drivers, and necessary training should be given to radical drivers to make them realize the positive role of the warning system, so as to improve driving efficiency and promote safe driving. The research results provide support for the application of connected vehicle warning information system in parking lot and the improvement of parking lot safety.
