Abstract:In order to study the relationship between the wear resistance of aggregates and the morphological characteristics of aggregates, based on the second generation of Aggregate Image Measurement System (AIMS II) and its morphological parameters, the evaluation method for the wear resistance of aggregates was established. In this paper, 11 different coarse aggregates from 5 lithologies with aggregate particle sizes ranging from 9.5-13.2mm were selected. AIMS II was used to measure the morphological characteristics of these 11 different types of coarse aggregates on aggregates. The AIMS II indexes including sphericity, gradient angularity and surface texture were used to analyze the rationality of aggregate sample quantity in a single test. On this basis, the abrasion values of each type of aggregate samples were tested, and the morphological changes of aggregates after the abrasion were analyzed by combining the indexes of AIMS II including sphericity, gradient angularity, surface texture and comprehensively morphological indexes (CAAT), so as to evaluate the wear resistance of each sample. The results show that there is a good linear relationship between CAAT and the abrasion value of coarse aggregate, and the fitting correlation coefficient is 0.956. It is reasonable to adopt CAAT to evaluate the wear resistance of aggregate.
