Abstract:Water control completion technology has been well applied in China's offshore oilfields. However, there are relatively few studies on completion segmentation methods, and most plan designs are segmented based on water ridge shapes and field experience. In this paper, permeability, porosity, oil saturation and lithologic parameters were considered comprehensively. The physical property index and oil saturation index were put forward to evaluate the completion section. According to the frequency distribution and cumulative distribution of each index, the three grades of good, middle and bad were divided and scored. Then, the total score of each segment was obtained by comprehensively considering the two indexes. The initial segment position was obtained according to the score value. Combined with lithologic conditions, the final segment position was determined. Finally, a set of segmented evaluation methods for water control completion based on physical parameters was formed. The corresponding completion section design program module was developed. The field test results of Well A in BH Oilfield show that the segmented method can effectively guide the optimization design of water control completion. This segmentation method provides a theoretical basis for the design idea of segmentation based on physical properties. It provides support for the wide application of intelligent water control completion.
