Abstract:Marsh funnel is a commonly used instrument for measuring fluid rheology. Firstly, this paper summarizes the mathematics model established by using a Marsh funnel to measure fluid rheology. Secondly, we summarize the methods and content of previous research. Finally, the key points and difficulties of the research on the rheological measurement of Marsh funnel are explained, and the future work is put forward. Studies presently conducted are focused on theoretical analysis combined with experimental measurements, in order to measure more rheological parameters with a Marsh funnel. However, due to the lack of research on the fluid flow in the Marsh funnel, the obtained rheological mathematics model is not suitable for field application. In the future, the new theory and technology of fluid mechanics should be used to carry out research on the rheology of the Marsh funnel. Further reveal the changes in rheology when the fluid flows through the Marsh funnel, and obtain a concise and accurate mathematical model of rheological parameters, and the scope of application of Marsh funnel is developed.
