The probability distribution function of the impact velocity in a blowing sand cloud is dveloped based on the profiles of blown sand flux and velocity, which is a little different from the established probability distribution function of the vertical lift-off elocity. Wind tunnel evaluation of the impact velocity of more than 53000 particles measured by a particle dynamic analyzer (PDA) shows reasonably good agrement with the developed function. More than (?)% of the cases, the correlation coefficient is over 0.95.
