For current identification method of hazardous location of mountain highway with less，the paper analyzes the relationship between road traffic accident and road conditions，and studies the identification method of the existing accident-prone sections，then proposes the distinction index-random length stepwise method of the equivalent accident.This identification method will use to identify hazardous location of the mountain highway.Finally，we select Kunming to Stone Forest freeway in Yunnan to validate the identification method.And the result shows that the identification method is reasonable and effective,can provides a theoretical and technical support for road safety audit.
