Abstract:This paper studies that the influence of the different heat treatment processes on the 304 austenitic stainless steel organization and performance. Through the 304 austenitic stainless steel quench processing by heating up to 1050℃, keeping 30 min, then cooling respectively in water and in the air, it is concluded that both of metallographic structure are for single-phase austenitic, the hardness of stainless steel by cooling in water can achieve higher than that by cooling in air. This shows 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel can obtain more interior stress by water-cooling. Through the raw material sensitized respectively by heating up to 650℃for 60 min and by heating up to 800℃for 60 min, intergranular corrosion is more likely to occur at 800℃for 60 min. Therefore, when 304 stainless steel heat treatment it should be avoided to stay longer at high temperature in sensitization temperature interval.
