Abstract:With the rapid development of the city, to improve the road capacity, many roads must be expanded, so the work zone widely exists in the road sections and intersections. The work zone on the urban road will change the road width, which will have a certain impact on the normal driving of vehicles, resulting in a large number of queues and traffic delays. This paper, simulates the traffic flow and traffic delays in the work zone of urban road sections, studies the impact of different factors in the work zone environment on vehicle delays, the arrival rate of motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles, and analyzes the characteristics of the entrance traffic delays affected by the work zone, The size and location of the work zone and other factors affect the traffic delay in the work zone of the road section. The analysis method of traffic delay in the work zone of the urban road section based on the social force model is proposed, and the length of the work zone, the width of the work zone, and the proportion of large vehicles It has a significant impact on traffic delays and average traffic speeds in the work zone of the road section. The simulation results show that the calculation method of traffic delay in the work zone based on the social force model established in this paper has good applicability. Based on the analysis results, appropriate traffic management measures can be formulated to reduce traffic congestion in the work zone of the road section and reduce the delay and accident rate.
